TISB Hacks – Updates and Results
On the 9-10 October this year, TISB Hacks took place. The event organised by a team of students was a 36-hour hackathon that had over 170 registrations from schools all across India. With over 80 teams, the event gave a great opportunity for all participants to learn about coding and product development, who were divided into junior and senior category. We got in touch with the TISB Hacks team to learn more about the event; what took place and who turned out as winners in each category.
We look forward to the next iteration of TISB Hacks! – TISB Hacks team
The final submissions of the TISB Hacks were all very impressive. Each team had very unique ideas, and participants coded projects revolving around the themes of Healthcare, Transport, Social good and Education – all of which the team found relevant to the current situation the world is in. “Organising the event was a great experience, and we were truly impressed by the projects that the teams built”, said Ashna, Dhruv and Hem, who led the event.
The participants’ projects were judged by Mr Manish, a senior executive in CISCO and Mr Amit, co-founder and CEO of HummingWave Technologies. The final winners consisted of three teams in each category, and are as follows:
Senior Category: 'ඞ', 'Inject' and 'Digitalizers'
Junior Category: 'Code of Duty', 'Hackazards' and 'Destiny'
The first place winners won prizes of 15,000 INR in the senior category, and 10,000 INR in the junior category. The total prizes added up to 50,000 INR. All the Junior Category teams are from TISB.
“We would also like to thank Ms Priya, Dr Caroline, Mr Naveen, Mr Tarun, Mr Johan and Mr Pavan for helping us organise this event, along with our team of organisers and volunteers”, says the TISB Hacks team, who are happy to have managed to put together a great event despite the challenges faced due to the online platform. “The enthusiasm of our participants made up for it and we were able to make the hackathon collaborative and inclusive as always.”
