Boarding Activities

We provide a variety of activities for our boarders and aim to cater for the diverse and numerous interests of our students.

Weekend activities

Weekend activities play an integral part in the lives of TISB boarders. Our boarders really look forward to weekends so that they can engage in various activities that we plan for them to promote camaraderie and team building among them. These activities are also organised to promote personal, physical social, and academic development.  There is a wide variety of activities but the most popular among them are intra-boarding sports tournaments, treasure hunts, movie trips, mall trips, treasure hunts, barbeque nights, campfire nights, talent shows and camping.  Boarders are also taken to nearby tourist attractions which include Bangalore Palace, Cubbon Park, Science Museum visits and Bannerghatta Wildlife Safari.

Community and Festival Nights

There are special events wherein the whole community comes together to celebrate the festive spirit with a theme-based dinner. The most popular among them are the Dhandiya Nights and Christmas Parties. Boarders and on-campus staff also have get-togethers at the hockey field for an outdoor dinner with barbeque, live food counters, and music for Raksha Bandha and Diwali celebrations.

JBPL (Junior Boys Premier League) and JGBA (Junior Girls Basketball Association)

JBPL and JGBA are both student-led events organised by the Grade 9 boys and girls respectively for junior boarders (Grade 6, Grade 7, Grade 8 and Grade 9 ).  Junior Boys Premier League is a football league open for Grades 6 - 9 boys and Junior Girls Basketball Association is a basketball league open for Grades 6 - Grade 9 girls.  During the days of the competition, the entire campus rejuvenates with live commentary, music, food stalls and raffle prizes. The student organisers plan the whole event including scouting, auctioning and deciding the fixtures. The organising of these events gives these students exposure to real-world economics and life skills including budgeting, sponsorship, logistics, conflict resolutions and negotiations.
