The Curriculum for Early Years - Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten
The curriculum in the Early Years is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum (EYFS) which provides a framework for the education of children from birth to five years old.
The Prime Areas covered are:
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Communication and Language
- Physical Development
The Specific Areas covered are:
- Understanding the World
- Arts and Design
Under these seven areas of learning, teachers guide and facilitate a range of exciting and stimulating curricular activities that enable each child to achieve the goals and objectives appropriate to his or her individual stage of development.
Teachers make use of the large campus by often teaching outside where children have the opportunity to demonstrate their understanding, learning and development in a range of contexts.
