Charity Events

I am very proud of the fact that throughout the year the students of TISB involve themselves in organising various events, many of them raising significant funds for local charities and NGOs.

Dr Caroline Pascoe, Principal

VIVUM

It is a tradition at TISB that Grade 12 students organize and oversee the running of the annual VIVUM event, which is fundamentally a fundraising event for charities chosen by the students.  Around 25 external schools are invited to attend different events including sporting tournaments, poetry slams, fashion shows and music, photography and dance competitions. External speakers are also invited to take part in TISB’s version of TED Talks, InSpirit.  The event is enjoyed by all and allows Grade 12 students to utilise and nurture their leadership, negotiation and event organizing skills.

Xavage

Xavage is TISB’s annual business fest, which is an entirely student-run initiative providing participants the chance to apply their business acumen in an educational and competitive environment.

Through events such as the Mock Stock Exchange, Crisis Management simulations, and the Shark Tank-inspired ‘Eagle’s Cage’, Xavage sees participation from students across the city, and inspires socially and environmentally conscious business activities, as well as raises funds for local charities.

JBPL

Every year TISB Grade 9 boarders host a charity football league called Junior Boys Premier League (JBPL) for boarders in Grade 9 and below.

JBPL consists of 8 teams for which Managers are selected through an interview process, following which the 'players' are auctioned to the Managers. Each team consists of  8 players and  they battle through league matches to make their way to Finals, when the Winner is decided.

Finals Day is a charity event with food stalls, from which the sales revenue is donated to charity.
