Portrait Holiday

The new Head Boy and Head Girl, Shrey and Rewa, have recently been busy while studying, heading the Alumni event and preparing for the upcoming next year. However, they would also like to be part of the last week of the year’s news flow, to give the rest of the student community a message for the summer-break. We reached out to Rewa and Shrey to hear what they would like to say about the summer and the upcoming future.

I cannot wait to see everyone again when school reopens after the break – Rewa, Head Girl

Both Rewa and Shrey are happy being selected as Head Girl and Head Boy, as well as grateful for the honourable responsibility towards the whole school community. “With TISB’s values deep rooted in mine, I want to take the next step forward towards making our school proud”, says Rewa, who is looking forward to representing students and bringing them closer together as a community. “Being HB allows me to give back to this institution and serve them, my peers and my juniors”, says Shrey, who feels that he has grown and can represent and encourage sporting, outspoken nature, leadership qualities and communication through his time at the school.

To contribute to their history and their roles as Head Boy and Head Girl, both Shrey and Rewa especially look forward to plan and host the upcoming VIVUM, which will be one of the major events of the coming year. “I've always envisioned organising and hosting our own VIVUM ever since my first one in 2017”, says Shrey, who sees it as a dream come true. Rewa is looking forward to forming close connections with teachers and students alike, as well as introducing new ideas to the schools nurturing community: “I cannot wait to keep our school spirit high and make this another successful year at TISB.”

Before the beginning of next year Rewa and Shrey encourages students to make use of the summer holiday in their best way, and give away a few suggestions on what to do. “Capitalise on this summertime to learn a new skill or indulge in one that you've been distant from”, says Shrey, who at the same time, along with Rewa, stresses the importance of being relaxed as well. “Planning is mapping the path to your goal, only taking you closer to it”, says Rewa, who is looking forward to balancing both academics with fun-in-the-sun, advising others to plan in the beginning off the summer.

When the next upcoming year and term starts, Shrey and Rewa both have a suggestion each. “A fresh start in a new grade, new teachers, new peers and in some cases even new subjects gives us all a chance to expand socially and intellectually”, says Shrey, who wish everyone will be able to start off with a calm and relaxed mind. “For all the parents here, spend as much time as you can with your children, since together it's the smallest moments you will treasure later on”, says Rewa and adds: “Fasten your seat belts, it's going to be a fun and unforgettable year!”
