Born and brought up in Bangalore, PY Science Teacher, Ms Kamarunnisa, discovered her potential ability to teach at a very young age. The sense of satisfaction which she gets while teaching has made her more passionate about teaching, which has made her choose teaching as her career. Therefore, being a teacher makes Ms Kamarunnisa a lifelong teacher with love for student learning. We reached out to Ms Kamarunnisa to learn more about her passion for science, as well as what she feels about the Science Week in physical school.

Every achievement of my students makes me feel exhilarated – Ms Kamarunnisa, PY Science Teacher

Although being rather new, working with TISB science October 2021, Ms Kamarunnisa sees TISB as place to both develop and to contribute. “TISB definitely gives me an opportunity to explore various teaching and learning styles which creates an environment more conducive to learning”, says Ms Kamarunnisa, who feels exhilarated, passionate and proud when she sees what is happening, and achievement and joy among the student learners.

According to Ms Kamarunnisa, teaching involves student connections, and now that they are back in physical school, they witness a new type of excitement in their learning. “No technology can replace the potential of student and teacher relationship”, says Ms Kamarunissa, who celebrates hands on activities, science investigations and collaborative learning. This encourages students’ passion and excitement about the Science Week activities. This has encouraged the students’ passion for the air, hands in soil, growing plants, researching and investigating, building constructs and participating in other science activities. “I hope to keep this spirit of science burning in them which ignites a spark of curiosity throughout their day-to-day life activities.”
