Portrait Primary Years

While being born in Bangalore, Ms Archana has grown up and lived in several different cities in India, such as Indore, Pune and Mumbai. After moving around between cities, she decided to come back to Bangalore to study for her Bachelors in Architecture. After discovering her passion and soul for education, Ms Archana has acquired 11 years of working with both young learners as well as adults. We reached out to Ms Archana to find out more about her past, present and vision for the future.

I believe I am able to provide opportunities where each child’s opinion is valued which helps me develop strong relationships with them – Ms Archana, Grade 4 Teacher, English and Topic Subject Leader

Over the past 11 years, Ms Archana has worked in different schools as well as with the British Council as Blended Learning Teacher and a Freelance Trainer. Her journey with TISB started in 2016 and has since been a ride with breaks in between, and now it has been a year since she rejoined. At TISB Ms Archana enjoys the multicultural experiences brought by students, as well as the love, warmth and support of colleagues and the Department. “This makes the school a place where I want to go to everyday without the Monday blues!”, says Ms Archana, who always has a smile on her face in the classrooms and corridors.

What Ms Archana is mostly happy about with her work is the bonds that she builds with her students. “I have always tried to instill in them that each one of them is unique and will get there in their own time", says Ms Archana, who strongly believes that there is a chance to provide opportunities where each child’s opinion is valued. As for the reopening of PY and the future, she has a good guess: “I am really looking forward to watching my children laugh and have fun on the playground, hoping that the reopening goes on well and we all return to a new normal.”
