Our child-centered approach is designed using best practice from around the world and includes a holistic approach, with varied experiences and expressive processes which foster not only numeracy and literacy but also creativity and imagination.
In grades I – V we have adopted the Cambridge International Primary Programme, CIPP, that allows our pre-existing strengths to be combined with a huge and thoughtful resource base developed by the University of Cambridge. This is thoughtfully combined with cutting-edge teaching practice, weekly staff training, and a focus on developing self-awareness and reflection among students.
Inquiry and the use of resources such as ICT compliment all the strategies we use to help students to become life-long learners.
Musicals, art, drama, and public speaking, are important components of the programme. The school sports a large range of co-curricular activities, aided by talented teachers, experts, and parental support. The Reading Programme allows detailed analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of each child, and the reading Club promotes good oral expression of the written word. Team and individual sports are a central part of the experience at TISB.
